TinyTap
I worked a student position at TinyTap, a platform that lets anyone build interactive learning games (tinytap.com).
I was responsible for creating games for children ages 3–7, covering language, math, and general knowledge. The games were iPad experiences written by a teacher who worked closely with us — she'd give us the curriculum and what the child needed to learn, and we'd come up with a story and build it around that educational topic. I created a "My First Words" English-vocabulary series for young children — each episode had different characters who'd talk through the words being learned.
We handled everything ourselves: character design, backgrounds, sound design, the small interactions — all inside TinyTap's own platform. We built the games using the same interface real users would use, which helped us understand them better and find ways to make the platform easier to work with. So we weren't just users — we were also the platform's primary creators, which meant we were constantly pushing our feedback to the design and development teams, working with them to prioritize what mattered. We worked closely with the UI/UX, engineering, and content teams.
